Artist Spotlight: Lana Del Rey

Two years ago, I heard the song "Video Games," by Ms. Lana Del Rey. I didn't think much about it, just heard the song, like her voice, and continued on with my day. Three months later, in my intro to Pyschology class, my teacher (who used to play random videos before class, and when she couldn't think of videos let her students pick) played "Blue Jeans." Needless to say, I was a little starstruck. Now there wee TWO songs by Lana that seemed so unlike any of the other songs out there.
Later on, iTunes gave away "Born to Die" as a promotional offer (I believe). And randomly one day, I listened to it.
And now two years later, I've finally decided to really check her out.

Songs (I specifically think) you should check out:

  1. Video Games
  2. Blue Jeans
  3. Born to Die
  4. Summertime Sadness
  5. National Anthem
  6. You and Beautiful
  7. Ride
  8. Desire
in no specific order.

"Young and Beautiful" is actually featured in the (currently) new movie "The Great Gatsby."

Lana Del Rey among writing beautiful songs and having a magnificent voice is, beautiful, and makes wonderful music videos that really showcase her talent as an artist and not just a singer.
