You by Caroline Kepnes

In One Line: This had some thrills, and was definitely creepy. But it mostly just felt like a teen boy’s rambling on his sexual desires.

You follows Joe as becomes obsessed with a young woman he meets one day while working at a bookstore. He stalks her, going into her apartment, stealing her things, and even resorting to murder in order to be the "guy of her dreams."

Joe is basically crazy, and while the book fell flat for me, it was very interesting to hear his rationalizations for what he continued to do in order to be close to Beck.

There were a couple other dislikable characters, and I think that's one of the reasons this book fell flat. In the end, there just weren't enough characters that are really unique or likable.

The ending was anti-climatic. I was hoping for a big surprise reveal to make the whole story come together and have me wanting to reread to find out how I didn’t guess it. But it was just kind of expected and a little boring.

Ethan, a character introduced about mid-way point, really saved this book in my opinion. Very funny, and funny annoying.
