Lies by T.M. Logan Review

Lies by T.M. Logan follows family man Joe as he is caught in a web of lies after being at the scene of a crime and is now the number one suspect. The author quickly shows us that no one can be trusted, and that being at the wrong place and at the wrong time even just once, can completely impact your life. The book also breaks down the fragility in using social media as evidence in missing person/murder cases.

Lies is Gone Girl with a stronger importance on social media and how damaging and vulnerable we all can be to a hacker. It also shows how the advancements in technology make us vulnerable even to those not adept at hacking or technology.

description

Readers are sure to be captivated by this story within pages as one lie develops into another, and another. The action continues and our worry for the main character, Joe, as we try to stay on his side, even as evidence against him continues to mount, and we worry whether or not he's innocent and if he is how he'll get control back. The author does a good job of setting up everything and bringing the thrill level to the max as Joe slowly starts to lose everything. From his faith in his marriage, to his job, to his family and friends, and even his life? I, personally, found it to be just too much of the setup and not enough of the reveal. I was able to piece together most of the twist, and by the 80% point or so, I was ready for the reveal.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an e-arc. All opinions are my own.
